When the bat becomes mightier than the sword

As a leader, there’s a sense of calmness you associate with Baby’s presence. Get closer to him, and you feel his aura, one defined by brooding intensity that inspires.
As a batter, he’s unable to hide the fact that he’s not competing with anyone but himself. Put a bat in his hand and you’re likely to find him in his elements straightaway — ‘flow state’, as some call it.
Kerala folklore has it that he tends to lose awareness a lot. First, he loses touch with the opposition — barring the balls they send his way. The deeper he goes, he loses touch even with his own. While some may describe the experience of batting with him as ‘lonely’, others are known to draw inspiration and bring out the best in them while batting with him.

- He is going to lead Kerala to their first Ranji trophy title.
